Museum Week

Commencing Museum week we are showing our latest DVD featuring the last Days of Gunn’s Sawmill in Yarloop in our theatrette. A large Jarrah log was saved to enable the giant twin saw to run for the filming. Each blade is about two metres in diameter which enabled a log up to 2metres in Diameter to be sawn into slabs for processing through the mill.

Why not come and spend some time with us at Yarloop?
The perfect day-trip from Perth, we are just a short drive (126 km) by car or train. The "Australind" train comes past twice daily. This is an air conditioned train with air bag suspension that leaves from Central Perth station and travels on to the city of Bunbury.

There is a lot to do at Yarloop, like Guided Tours through the historic workshops.

Yarloop is set amongst irrigated dairy farms. Dense jarrah forests grow above the town on the Darling Range. Yarloop has a swimming pool, of sorts, two kilometers from the town on Logue Book. The pool is fed by irrigation water from Logue Brooke dam about 10 km away in the Darling Range.

Yarloop has a Hotel (08 9733 5005) and a guest house (08 9733 5264). Admission to Historic Workshops

Mon - Sun (except live steam days)

Live Steam Days

We will see you there!
